KEFIANO GLOBAL FOUNDATION TO LAUNCH CREATIVE HUB NOVEMBER

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kefiano Foundation,Chief Wungak Kefas Ropshak, has disclosed that the foundation is set to launch the “PLATEAU CREATIVE HUB” which is an initiative that will help train younger creatives in being independent at the inception of the launch in November 2023 in Jos the Plateau State capital.

Shortly after presenting his keynote address at the Myrole Conference with the theme: "Present and Future Plateau" organised by the Myrole Aid Mission held at the conference hall of Crest Hotel and Gardens in Jos, the Kefiano CEO de.clared saying: “It is a reality, it has come to stay. We are going to launch the Creative Hub at the end of November this year. Everybody is invited as I said before. It is a Creative Hub and my personal initiative. I do not just talk, but do the talk as you always know me."

Chief Wungak Kefas Ropshak went on to say that: “I want to see how we can train the younger generation to be independent because it is key. It is going to help a whole lot in reducing criminality in the society as far as I am concerned. It is also going to reduce a full burden even to me who is spending money to help people in due course, if other people are doing well."

Further evident about the mission of the hubs activities, Chief Wungak disclosed in his own words saying: “This is a reality that I intend to achieve by the grace of God and I am going to launch it in November. By January 2024, I will start going to every Local Government to train not more than hundred (100) youths in the area of Information Technology (IT). That is my intention by the grace of God”.

To clear doubts that he was not doing it for any political reason, the Kefiano Foundation ceo disclosed that he is doing this out of his desire and resolve to ensure that Plateau youths are engaged in the private sector, because most Plateau children grow up to know their parents as civil servants.

“So, I thought there is the need to create this awareness in the private sector because whether you like it or not, a public worker still come back to the private sector. I also see it that it is never a waste to invest in humanity. It is my dream!”

Chief Wungak has herefore called on the Plateau youths to key into this great opportunity and be independent because entrepreneurship will rule the world since there is gradual drop in employment opportunities for them these days.

KENNETH GYANG'S "THIS IS LAGOS" PREMIERES IN DECEMBER 2023.

 Directed by Kenneth Gyang, the film portrays the captivating journey of Stevo, portrayed brilliantly by Gabriel Afolayan, a young man with an insatiable hunger for superstardom in a city where everyone wears a mask of some kind. This Is Lagos skillfully captures Stevo's story in a darkly humorous manner....

Kenneth Gyang, popularly known for his work on Oloture, has directed his latest work titled: "THIS IS LAGOS" which is produced in collaboration with Tom Rowlands-Rees and Jide Makinde.

This production isn't a work in the park but one that took over 10 years in development and the joint effort of Gyang and Rowlands-Rees to turn a short story published by Crispin Oduobuk-Mfon Abasi into what we would see in This is Lagos.

Led by Gabriel Afolayan who plays the role of Stevo and other cast include:

In Kenneth Gyang's words:

"The way I crafted this film was with the intention of having the audience experience it on the grand canvas of the big screen. This is reflected in the film’s visual design, and even in terms of lens choices. The sole reason we went with full frame Anamorphic.”

He continued, expressing his deep connection with Lagos, saying:

“This is Lagos" is my love letter, a personal project. I’ve already completed two films, but this one is my heartfelt ode to Lagos. As someone deeply rooted in the essence of the city, I wanted to capture the true spirit of Lagos and present it to the audience in all its glory on the expansive canvas of the big screen.”

This is Lagos’ is set to hit the cinemas in December 2023, promising a mix of humor and drama on the big screen.

BIG BUZZ NATION AMBASSADORIAL NIGHT SCHEDULED TO HAPPEN IN JOS.

 THE BIGBUZZ NATION AMBASSADORIAL NIGHT 2023 is one of the Bigbuzznation brand top class event. 

David Ochume aka Wiz-D-currency the flawless Boss has stated that "The event is meant to set the pace in the modeling industry within the middlebelt region of Nigeria and maintain a top notch standard."

This is the second edition of the event and it's happening live in Jos on the 24th of November 2023.

R.I.F.F TAKES OFF IN RIVERS STATE FOR 2023!

The Organizers of the Rivers International Film Festival (R.I.F.F) unveils their host for the maiden edition.

Organisers of the Rivers International Film Festival, RIFF, have dropped the hint that preparations are at top gear to unveil the maiden edition of the festival.

Chief Executive Officer of RIFF, Kate Ezeigbo, stated this Update over the weekend.

Details of the festival will be disclosed during a Press Conference scheduled to hold on October 17, at Alliance Francais, 20 Herbert Macaulay Street, Amadi Flat, Port Harcourt by 12pm.

Several speakers are expected to participate at the event with the theme: Educating and empowering the next generation of film makers.

PLATEAU INTERNATIONAL "STREET" FILM FESTIVAL IN ITS 7TH EDITION

 PLATEAU INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (PIFF) in its seventh edition goes to the streets in the month of October with a 3 days film forum offering a connecting platform for Nollywood project holders in search of networking and marketing with professionals and investors involved in sustainability to be accessed easily.

Debrah Jalmet, the convener of the Plateau International Film Festival has emphasized that the selection of the Nollywood feature films, fiction and documentary projects with social, societal and environmental impact content, illustrating one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals, will be presented to an audience in 3 major parts of the Tin city that would acknowledge and foster, celebrate culture, creativity and be committed to human rights and the Plateau dream.

This 7th edition tagged:  “Film and Human Rights,” is set to explore the powerful influence of film on individuals, both positively and negatively for 3 days at 3 different locations within the Jos Capital of Plateau state.


DAY ONE of the Film Festival is scheduled to commence on Friday, October 13th 2023 at the Secretariat Junction Under Bridge in Jos, Plateau State.

DAY TWO will happen on Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at the Redeemed Christian Mission (RCM) Abattoir near the Police Station.

DAY THREE is scheduled for Sunday, October 15th 2023 at the Fwavwei Junction in Rayfield, Jos, Plateau State.

These 3 days event will offer filmmakers within the middle belt region the opportunity to present,market and allow them to meet with professionals and investors while basking in the ambiance of the tourist city.

The PIFF is a unique opportunity to expand networks and forge new collaborations by bringing together local practitioners in the film industry and the actors of sustainability around quality works, fostering by their content or in any other way, a more human world as the theme of the Festival pioneers.
